Jupiter Farms vs Palm Beach Country Estates Which Is Right For You?

Are you thinking about moving to northern Palm Beach County and can’t decide between Jupiter Farms and Palm Beach Country Estates?

Well, you’re not alone. When my wife and I decided to move up to Jupiter, our decision came down to the choice between these two communities. So, I get it. I’ve been there. I’ve done this exercise.

Jupiter Farms and Palm Beach Country Estates attract the same kind of buyer — people looking for space, privacy, and no HOAs. But there are some key differences, and one of them may make more sense for you than the other.

In today’s video, we’re going to jump in the car and take a drive through both areas. We’ll also talk about location, schools, pricing, and run through an overhead map so you get an idea of where you are.

Hopefully, by the end, you’ll know which community may be the better fit for you.

Palm Beach Country Estates: Location & Amenities

Here’s Palm Beach Country Estates outlined on the map. You can see Donald Ross Road here, and Indiantown Road up top.

For proximity to highways:

  • If you live in Palm Beach Country Estates, you’ll take Donald Ross to get on I-95.

  • For the Turnpike, you’ll head down to PGA or up to Indiantown.

The beach is about 20 minutes away — just straight across Donald Ross.

When it comes to amenities:

  • The closest shopping and dining is in Alton Town Center, which has a Publix, restaurants, and bars.

  • You’ll also spend time in Downtown Abacoa, which offers more local spots to eat and grab a drink.

Everything is just a few minutes away — a quick, convenient trip from Palm Beach Country Estates.

Jupiter Farms: Location & Amenities

Now let’s switch over to Jupiter Farms. I had to outline this one manually, so forgive the crude drawing!

If you live in Jupiter Farms and need to get to I-95 or the Turnpike, you’ll hop across Indiantown Road. Commute time varies based on where you live — Jupiter Farms covers about 20 square miles, so it’s a big area.

You’re about 20 minutes from the beach, give or take.

For groceries and dining:

  • There’s a Publix and a few small restaurants within the Farms.

  • But if you want variety, you’ll drive into town — usually across Indiantown — for more options.

Honestly, that’s what we do. My wife Candace and I eat out three to four nights a week, so we make that trip often. It’s just a few extra minutes — not a big deal.

Driving Tour: Palm Beach Country Estates

I recorded some footage while driving through Palm Beach Country Estates — just random streets, nothing cherry-picked.

One thing you’ll notice: privacy. Most homes are set back behind trees and shrubs. The neighborhood is quiet with walkable streets — great for jogging or stroller walks.

If you’re looking for space and easy access to I-95 and town, Palm Beach Country Estates should be high on your list.

Driving Tour: Jupiter Farms

Jupiter Farms is larger — around 4,900 home sites ranging from 1.25 to 20 acres, with a few even larger.

It feels more rural and equestrian. You’ll see horses often; our home backs onto a canal, so we see riders all day long — one of my favorite things about living here.

But, you are farther from I-95 and town than in Country Estates.

If you’re torn between the two, just reach out — I’ve been through the same process and can help you think it through.

Also, full disclosure: we live in Jupiter Farms, and my daughter goes to Jupiter Farms Elementary, so I know these schools firsthand.

A Look at the Schools

Let’s break it down carefully.

  • High: William T. Dwyer High School

If you live east of Jupiter Farms Road:

  • Elementary: Jerry Thomas Elementary

Real Estate Market Comparison

Over the last 12 months:

  • Jupiter Farms: 194 sales

  • Palm Beach Country Estates: 49 sales

That makes sense — Jupiter Farms has 4,900 home sites, while Country Estates has 1,500.

Median sale price:

  • Jupiter Farms: $855,000

  • Palm Beach Country Estates: $837,000

So, pricing is fairly similar.

Highest sales:

  • Jupiter Farms: $3.3 million

  • Palm Beach Country Estates: $3.6 million

However, Jupiter Farms had 17 sales over $2 million versus 5 in Country Estates. The higher-end market is more active in Jupiter Farms due to larger lot sizes and ongoing new construction.

Other Key Differences

  • Equestrian Lifestyle: Jupiter Farms caters more to horse owners.

  • Utilities: Palm Beach Country Estates is mostly city water/sewer; Jupiter Farms uses wells.

  • Street Lighting: Neither has street lights — peaceful nights and clear stars.

  • Road Types: Both have a mix of dirt and paved roads.

Personally, I love living on a dirt road — slower traffic, safer for kids. But some people prefer paved.

Pros and Cons of Each Community

Palm Beach Country Estates

Pros:

  • Closer to I-95, Turnpike, beaches, and restaurants.

  • Smaller, quieter community with less traffic.

Cons:

  • Limited home inventory.

  • Potential for road noise near I-95 or Turnpike.

  • Fewer public parks.

Jupiter Farms

Pros:

  • Larger community and more home options.

  • Equestrian lifestyle and larger lot sizes.

Cons:

  • Further from beaches and shopping.

  • More rural feel — great if you love that, not ideal if you don’t.

  • Well water and dirt roads aren’t for everyone.

Final Thoughts & Conclusion

These two communities have more in common than differences.

They both attract people who:

  • Want space and privacy

  • Dislike HOAs

  • Want room for boats, RVs, and horses

  • Care about schools and outdoor living

You really can’t go wrong with either.

Overpaying when you buy. Leaving money behind when you sell. Those are the two most expensive mistakes in real estate. My clients don’t make them. You shouldn’t either.
